About
Rochelle Chase is a New Zealand born artist who currently resides in Sydney, Australia. Prior to establishing herself as a painter, Rochelle began her creative career as a Hair & Make up Artist.
This early introduction to the world of beauty inspired an entrepreneurial Rochelle to launch her own cosmetics range in 1999. Success was swift with 150 stores nationally agreeing to stock her beautiful range of lipsticks & glosses. It was during this period, Rochelle discovered her love of formulating colour, which inspired her to start painting.
In 2007 Rochelle’s passion for painting saw her switch careers to become an artist. Her works became quickly sought after and it wasn’t long before she was being commissioned to create works for some of Australia’s leading corporate developers. This led to Rochelle opening pop up galleries across Sydney. Initially she opened 'Art Treasury' in Australia’s famous Bondi Beach where she showcased emerging local artists as well as the Nelson Mandela collection. This was soon followed by the opening of 'Art Treasury' in Double Bay, showcasing the works of international contemporary, investment & indigenous artists.
Rochelle’s own artworks are inspired by the natural movements of the earth. Her focus is on rip currents for her love of the water and the Aurora Australis light, due to her fascination with the phenomenon of the natural light display. To further her knowledge, Rochelle studied at the UNSW Art & Design, Fine Art. Rochelle has also travelled extensively internationally visiting the major Art Fairs, Museums, Galleries and Auction Houses as well as assisting with the Paddington Art Prize and contributing her time and artworks to various causes.
Rochelle brings an authentic, unique and fresh approach to the art business. Her intuitive nature, entrepreneurial spirit and undeniable love for the arts, allows her to instantaneously connect.
When Rochelle is not painting or working on Art Projects, she enjoys paddle surfing out in the ocean and writing. Rochelle released her debut novel 'A Love that Binds' in July 2019, a story surrounding friendships and the lives of two inspiring women who share a deep care for nurturing precious relationships and the community at large.
